Pacific Northwest Here We Come!

May 31, 2017

START:      Sarasota                  TODAY:       396   Miles
END:          Mariana, FL            TOTAL:       396   Miles

CAMPGROUND:  Florida Caverns State Park

Well, here we go!  The camper is loaded, refrigerator is full and we think we are ready to hit the road.  We headed to the trailer storage lot, hooked up, pull the chocks, adjusted the mirrors and pulled onto I75.  The weather channel forecasted a high of 90 degrees today so we were pleased to be headed north.  Easy going through the University Ave exchange was a pleasant surprise, but traffic approaching Tampa was heavy as expected.

We reached Tallahassee feeling that we could press on for a couple hours and traffic on I10 was light.  A call to Florida Caverns State Park yielded a campsite for the night so we continued west.

By 2:30 Ron had plugged into electric and water, extended the awning and slide, and had cold air blowing.  A well-deserved beer was next on the list for the day.

We intended a nice early evening walk to commune with nature, but the rain prevented an excursion - had to be content with memories from our tour of  the caverns last year.

After arranging a breakfast date with Betty and Marc (KatMan2) tomorrow morning in Pensacola, we enjoyed the gentle rain as we ate dinner and settled in for the night.
