EASY DAY

Today was an easy day taking care of a few chores in the morning, buying a few gifts, then a short drive for a  picnic lunch.  When we arrived at a lovely picnic area along the river, we saw several available tables except for one thing. These big boys had claimed the site and were less than 20 feet from our car.

We decided to eat in the car and just watch the bison do their thing which included a couple of them using the picnic table as a scratching post.

By the time we left there were 40 cars in the parking lot taking advantage of the up close and personal experience.

We stopped by a ranger station and asked for help in identifying this little guy we had seen yesterday.  We can now say we spotted a Yellow Belly Marmot.

Paying tribute to the small creatures we have also encountered Raven, Trumpeter Swans and White Pelicans.

Much to our disappointment, we have not encountered moose, big horn sheep or bear.

After the rains last night, the skies were clear today so we snapped a few landscapes photos that proved to capture the essence of the Yellowstone beauty.

Tomorrow we leave Yellowstone and head to The Grand Tetons National Park.
This has been a wonderful experience that we truly enjoyed and will cherish forever.
