San Francisco

START: Groveland, CA     TODAY:     179 Miles
END:     Pacifica, CA         TOTAL:   4,036  Miles

A steep and winding road took us down the mountains as we headed west to San Francisco.  Along Hwy 108 our views included cattle ranches and groves of all kinds; olive, peach, nectarine and walnut trees.  We passed several small communities with pretty downtown districts and some historic buildings, such as this bank in Oakdale.

Twenty bucks granted us access to The San Mateo Bridge across San Francisco Bay.

Our campsite is the San Francisco RV Resort, which is really in Pacifica, CA.  Although it’s a paved parking lot facility, it is directly on the Pacific Ocean.  This is the view 100 steps from our camper door – not bad!

Untethered from the trailer, we decided to give the Jeep a good cleaning at the local car wash.  The Arizona/Nevada red dust did not look big city worthy.

Tonight we will be off to the city to have dinner with our friend, Dani.
